Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath to Lead State Cabinet Meeting, Over 20 Major Proposals Expected

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will chair a meeting of the state cabinet at his official residence on Tuesday, where more than 20 important proposals are expected to be considered for approval. One of the key items on the agenda is the proposal to present the state's supplementary budget in the Legislative Assembly later in the day. The cabinet is also likely to review and approve the estimated cost of the proposed Jewar Link Expressway, which will connect the Jewar Airport corridor with the Ganga Expressway through Bulandshahr.

The meeting is also expected to consider significant changes to madrasa education in the state. A proposal to amend the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Council Act, 2004, seeks to discontinue the awarding of 'Kamil' and 'Fazil' degrees by madrasas. Among other major proposals, the cabinet may approve the establishment of the Prayagraj-Chitrakoot Regional Development Authority to boost planned development in the region. It will also deliberate on providing land free of cost for the construction of seven multi-purpose hubs across the state and the creation of a Nomadic Development Board.

The Information Technology and Electronics Department is expected to place two proposals before the cabinet, while discussions are also likely on revising the implementation guidelines for the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2.0. The agenda further includes proposals to implement the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and the Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme in line with the latest guidelines issued by the Central Government.

Ministers are also expected to consider extending, for another five years, an agreement originally signed on February 6, 2015, for the implementation of a community development project. In addition, a proposal concerning the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) is also listed for discussion. A day before the cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Adityanath urged legislators to use the Monsoon Session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly to focus on issues affecting farmers, youth, women and economically weaker sections of society.

Addressing the media on the opening day of the session, the Chief Minister described the Assembly as the most effective platform for raising public concerns and ensuring their resolution. He encouraged legislators from all constituencies to actively participate in discussions that directly impact people's lives. Responding to the Samajwadi Party's criticism over the alleged Ram Mandir donation embezzlement issue, Adityanath accused the opposition of attempting to politicise the matter, stating that the party had opposed the construction of the Ram Temple in the past.

He also noted the significance of the ongoing Shravan month, highlighting its importance for farmers, students seeking admissions, and devotees participating in the Kanwar Yatra, while expressing hope that the Assembly session would lead to meaningful discussions and decisions for the welfare of the state.
