Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam on Monday pledged to take "firm action" against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra over his remarks about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in his latest YouTube video. In a post on X, Nirupam wrote in Hindi, "We will deal with Kunal Kamra tomorrow at 11 o’clock."

Additionally, Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel lodged an FIR against Kamra at the MIDC police station, calling for strict action and demanding an apology within two days. Patel warned that if Kamra failed to apologize, he would not be allowed to move freely in Mumbai. He also vowed to raise the matter in the assembly and urged the state home minister to take stringent measures.

"We have registered an FIR against Kunal Kamra for his remarks about our leader, Maharashtra’s DCM Eknath Shinde. We demand swift action against him. He must apologize within two days; otherwise, Shiv Sainiks will not let him move around freely in Mumbai. If spotted in public, we will blacken his face. This issue will be brought up in the assembly, and we will request our home minister to take immediate action," Patel told ANI on Sunday.

On Sunday, Shiv Sena workers vandalized the Habitat Comedy Club in Khar, where Kamra’s show was filmed. Reacting to the controversy, Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske called Kunal Kamra a "hired comedian" paid to comment on party leaders. He expressed sympathy for Sanjay Raut and the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction, claiming they lacked workers or leaders to speak against Eknath Shinde, forcing them to rely on comedians.

"Kunal Kamra is a hired comedian making comments about our leader for money. Forget Maharashtra—he won’t be able to move freely anywhere in India. Shiv Sainiks will put him in his place. We pity Sanjay Raut and Shiv Sena (UBT) for having no party members left to criticize our leader, so they are hiring people like him," Mhaske told ANI on Sunday.
