In response to the tragedy, Modi decided to cut his Saudi trip short and returned to India on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah rushed to Srinagar on Tuesday evening to oversee the security situation and ensure prompt measures were taken.

Prime Minister Modi condemned the attack and vowed that those responsible for the heinous act would not be spared. He assured the nation that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.
