Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Tuesday that under the state’s new civil aviation policy, a permanent helipad will be built every 45 km, and an airport will be developed every 150 km to enhance connectivity across the state. Speaking at a dialogue with industrialists in Indore as part of the Invest Madhya Pradesh - Global Investors Summit, scheduled for February 24-25 in Bhopal, Yadav shared that the state cabinet has approved the Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy-2025.
As part of this initiative, the government will offer financial incentives to boost air travel in the state. A grant of ₹7.5 lakh will be provided for every new domestic flight connecting Madhya Pradesh to other states via new routes, while aviation companies launching international flights will receive ₹10 lakh per route. Additionally, tenders will be issued soon to introduce helicopter services connecting Indore, Ujjain, and Omkareshwar.
The cabinet also approved a new Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Policy to support business expansion and entrepreneurship. Investors establishing small industries with investments exceeding ₹2.5 crore will receive government support. Privately developed industrial areas will also be entitled to the same benefits and facilities as state-developed zones.
To further accelerate industrial development, a metropolitan authority will be set up in western Madhya Pradesh, covering 10,000 square kilometers and encompassing the districts of Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Dhar, and Shajapur. This initiative aims to promote large-scale industrial growth and improve infrastructure in the region.
Looking ahead to the Simhastha fair in Ujjain in 2028, the chief minister announced that various religious communities will be allowed to construct permanent dharamshalas, ashrams, and dining halls across 2,300 hectares. These facilities will enhance accommodation and amenities for devotees attending this significant spiritual gathering. The government’s latest policies reflect a strong commitment to infrastructure development, industrial growth, and religious tourism, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a key destination for investment and cultural significance.
