Guru Randhawa Donates Rs 7 Lakh to Support 35 Homes for Assam Flood Victims

Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa has joined the growing relief efforts for flood-hit Assam, donating ₹7 lakh towards the construction of 35 permanent homes for families affected by the devastating floods. Randhawa has extended his support through the Sikh Aid Foundation, which is working on a housing project aimed at helping displaced families rebuild their lives. The proposed homes will be constructed in parts of Upper Assam, including Sivasagar, Jorhat and Nepali Khuti, according to reports.

The contribution comes at a time when several parts of Assam are dealing with the aftermath of severe flooding. The disaster has affected thousands of people, damaging homes, disrupting livelihoods and forcing families to seek temporary shelter. Unlike immediate relief efforts that typically focus on food, medicines, drinking water and other essential supplies, the latest initiative backed by Randhawa focuses on long-term rehabilitation. This is not Randhawa's first contribution to the Assam relief effort. The singer had earlier donated ₹5 lakh from his personal funds towards flood relief in the state. His earlier contribution was made through Assam-based digital creator Dimpu Baruah and his relief team, which has been involved in providing assistance to communities affected by the floods.

Randhawa's latest contribution comes as several celebrities have stepped forward to support Assam. Actors Bhumi Pednekar and Randeep Hooda have also participated in relief activities and highlighted the difficulties faced by people living in flood-affected areas. The involvement of celebrities has brought additional attention to Assam's flood crisis, encouraging wider public participation in relief and rehabilitation efforts.
