Following Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour also opts out of the Stranger Things finale event

Amid reports about actor David Harbour’s alleged erratic conduct, the Stranger Things star will not attend the Netflix series’ grand finale event, according to People. Harbour, who was expected at the Stranger Things The Final Season Celebration in New York, is not listed among the confirmed attendees and is also absent from the screening and discussion lineup on the event website. A source cited by People said his absence is due to a scheduling conflict.
This comes as lead actor Millie Bobby Brown has also withdrawn from the event because of a recent injury. Harbour has recently drawn negative attention following online speculation that Brown had filed a harassment complaint against him, claims the two later addressed and dismissed at the Stranger Things UK premiere. At the premiere, Brown spoke positively about Harbour, who plays her on screen father figure Jim Hopper, saying they were fortunate to have supported each other throughout the decade long journey of the show.
Meanwhile, a video circulating online showed Harbour involved in a street confrontation, during which he reportedly took a bar patron’s hat, threw it to the ground, questioned someone about the Iraq War, and then fell to his knees in prayer. A source told TMZ that Harbour has been open about managing bipolar disorder and suggested the incident could be linked to stress from continuous work and intense public scrutiny.
Harbour currently appears in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. Following the release of Volume 1, fans are awaiting Volume 2, scheduled for release on December 25. The newly released trailer shows the people of Hawkins preparing for a final battle against Vecna and the Demogorgons from the Upside Down, with the series finale set to air on New Year’s Eve.
