External Affairs Minister Jaishankar to present the keynote speech at the 9th Global Technology Summit

The ninth edition of the Global Technology Summit (GTS) kicked off on Friday with an inaugural address by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Later in the day, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is also scheduled to speak at the event. GTS, India’s premier platform for discussions on geo-technology, is jointly organized by Carnegie India and the Ministry of External Affairs. The summit brings together leaders from government, academia, industry, and civil society to shape international discourse on technology, emphasizing innovation, resilience, and global collaboration.
Running from April 10 to 12, the 2025 edition of GTS is centered around the theme "Sambhavna," meaning possibilities. The summit will explore the role of emerging technologies in driving inclusive development, enhancing digital governance, and fostering international cooperation. GTS 2025 will host over 40 public sessions, including keynotes, ministerial talks, expert panels, and strategic discussions. More than 150 speakers from over 40 nations—including the US, UK, Japan, Australia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil, UAE, Nigeria, the Philippines, and the EU—will discuss pressing global tech challenges and opportunities.
Topics will include AI regulation, digital public infrastructure, data privacy, cybersecurity, space security, and cooperation on emerging technologies, particularly in the Global South. For the first time, the summit will also highlight youth perspectives through the GTS Young Ambassadors programme. This initiative invites students and young professionals from across India to engage in policy dialogues on digital futures, responsible AI, and global tech standards. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is expected to speak at the summit on Saturday, along with notable diplomats such as German Ambassador Philipp Ackermann and Australian High Commissioner Philip Green.
