A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday between Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation Limited (DTTDC) and Prasar Bharati at Bharat Mandapam during the International Film Festival of Delhi (IFFD). The agreement seeks to position Delhi as a key hub for the media and entertainment sector.

According to a press release, Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra stated that under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership, Delhi aims to become a preferred destination for investors, producers, and creative professionals from India and abroad. He emphasized that the city possesses abundant talent, technical expertise, and creative energy to drive this initiative. Mishra further noted that Delhi will be developed into a modern, integrated hub for film, television, and media, encompassing areas such as animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics on a unified platform.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted that the initiative will strengthen the creative economy and align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ vision, while positioning Delhi as a global centre for media and entertainment. The project will involve developing studios, post-production facilities, and AVGC hubs, along with a focus on training, skill development, and innovation. Officials anticipate that it will generate employment opportunities for youth and boost sectoral growth.

A joint coordination committee, consisting of representatives from both organisations, will oversee the project’s planning, funding, and execution. Regarding the festival, organised by DTTDC in association with the Delhi government and with KPMG as the knowledge partner, the International Film Festival of Delhi is a government-led, city-wide event showcasing Indian and international cinema while making film culture accessible across the capital. Running from March 25 to 31, the week-long festival includes screenings, discussions, and industry events across New Delhi, bringing together filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences from around the world.
