Authorities in Pakistan’s Balochistan province have extended the closure of all educational institutions while suspending internet and mobile services in several areas, citing ongoing security concerns. According to official notifications, both public and private schools across the province will remain closed until March 31, as part of precautionary measures taken in response to the prevailing situation. The shutdown, which was initially announced earlier in March, has now been prolonged to ensure public safety.

Despite the closure of institutions, certain academic activities—including enrollment campaigns, school census operations, and scheduled examinations—are continuing as planned, authorities said. In parallel, the provincial government has also suspended mobile and internet services in multiple districts, including the capital Quetta. Officials stated that the move was necessary to prevent potential security threats and maintain law and order during a sensitive period.

The restrictions have disrupted daily life for residents, affecting communication, transportation services, and access to information. Authorities acknowledged the inconvenience caused but emphasized that the measures are temporary and aimed at safeguarding citizens. Balochistan has faced recurring security challenges in recent months, prompting authorities to impose strict measures, including communication blackouts and institutional closures, to stabilize the situation.

Officials have indicated that both internet services and educational activities will be restored once the security environment improves.
