Ambassador Kwatra Strengthens India-US Relations with Trade, Education and Investment Talks in Georgia

India's Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, held a series of high-level meetings in the US state of Georgia aimed at strengthening cooperation between India and the United States in key sectors including trade, investment, logistics, innovation, and higher education. Sharing updates on social media platform X on Monday (local time), Kwatra outlined his discussions with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, UPS Chief Executive Officer Carol Tomé, and senior representatives from universities across the southeastern United States.

During his meeting with Governor Kemp, the Indian envoy congratulated him on his leadership and reviewed the growing trade and investment relationship between India and the state of Georgia. The two leaders also explored ways to enhance cooperation in business, innovation, education, and connectivity to further deepen India-US ties.

Kwatra later met UPS CEO Carol Tomé, where the discussions centered on the expanding economic partnership between India and the United States. The talks covered supply chain resilience, logistics connectivity, and UPS's increasing investments and operations in India. Highlighting India's economic potential, the ambassador noted that the country continues to offer significant opportunities in manufacturing, innovation, and global business collaboration.

As part of his visit, Kwatra also attended the India-US Education Roundtable, hosted by the Consulate General of India in Atlanta. The event brought together leaders from 20 universities across the southeastern US to discuss expanding academic cooperation. The discussions focused on promoting joint research, faculty and student exchanges, technology-driven collaboration, innovation, and the possibility of establishing satellite campuses of American universities in India.

Emphasizing the importance of educational cooperation, Kwatra said that as India and the United States continue investing in future-oriented partnerships, education remains one of the strongest foundations of the broader strategic relationship between the two countries.
