Rolls-Royce's most renowned model, the Ghost, has received a significant upgrade, now named the Ghost Series II, which made its Asia-Pacific debut at a grand launch event held at Air CCCC on Dempsey Road on Wednesday, January 15.
The updates on the Ghost Series II include subtle but impactful changes, such as redesigned headlights and taillights and an overhauled interior that aligns with the contemporary aesthetics of Rolls-Royce’s modern lineup. The headlights now feature a slimmer, slightly curved design, replacing the previous rectangular look, while the lower bumper boasts a cleaner and more refined appearance. At the rear, the taillights take inspiration from the Spectre electric coupe, enhancing the car’s visual appeal. Additionally, two new 22-inch nine-spoke wheel designs have been introduced, alongside an expanded palette of body colors, including the striking Mustique Blue showcased at the launch.
Inside, the Ghost Series II incorporates Rolls-Royce's latest Spirit infotainment system, complemented by a set of all-digital instrument dials. The centerpiece clock now includes an illuminated stainless-steel Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, adding to the car's iconic charm. The passenger-side dashboard features an 'Illuminated Fascia,' designed to emulate a celestial time-lapse photograph. This element, like much of the car’s interior, can be customized through Rolls-Royce's Bespoke program.
Rear passengers enjoy improved connectivity, with the ability to connect two separate devices and Bluetooth headphones to the rear screens, enabling independent content streaming. The upgraded in-car Wi-Fi hotspot and the addition of USB-C charging ports further enhance convenience. An 18-speaker sound system powered by a 1,400-watt amplifier has been introduced to deliver an unparalleled audio experience.
Rolls-Royce also offers a wealth of new materials for customization, including Grey-Stained Ash, an open-pore wood trim enriched with metallic particles for a shimmering effect, and Duality Twill, a bamboo-derived rayon fabric embossed with a pattern inspired by the double R logo. These additions allow customers to personalize the interior to their tastes with unmatched precision and creativity.
Mechanically, the Ghost Series II retains its 6.7-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine, delivering a robust 563 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. The new Satellite Aided Transmission uses GPS data to optimize gear selection, ensuring a seamless driving experience, especially during cornering.
Pricing for the Ghost Series II begins at $1,858,888 for the standard model (excluding COE and additional options). The Ghost Extended Series II, offering an extended wheelbase with 170 mm of additional rear legroom, is priced at $2,078,888. Meanwhile, the Black Badge Ghost Series II, which includes a sportier design and performance enhancements, is available for $2,168,888.
The Ghost Series II exemplifies Rolls-Royce's dedication to luxury, innovation, and bespoke craftsmanship, reaffirming its position as a pinnacle of automotive excellence.
