Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has officially begun the Ooty shooting schedule for “Golmaal 5”, marking an important step for one of India’s most popular comedy franchises. He announced the development via Instagram, sharing a nostalgic video of himself riding with key members of the film’s main cast.

The post not only confirmed the start of production but also highlighted a much-anticipated reunion that has excited fans. One of the key highlights in the video is Sharman Joshi’s return to the franchise. He was part of the original 2006 film, “Golmaal: Fun Unlimited”, where he played Laxman, and his comeback has generated strong interest among long-time fans.

In his caption, Shetty looked back on the franchise’s journey, writing, “Riding through positive vibes since 20 years,” reflecting on its legacy since the first film released in 2006. The original cast included Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, and Tusshar Kapoor, and the film went on to become a major box office success. Over time, the Golmaal series has grown into one of Bollywood’s most recognisable comedy franchises, widely known for its ensemble cast and slapstick humour. The new footage suggests a return to its roots, with the familiar “Golmaal gang” reuniting on screen.

The Ooty schedule also indicates that Shetty will continue using scenic outdoor locations for his signature high-energy sequences.
