Kiran Singh Deo, the BJP MLA from Jagdalpur in Bastar, has been re-elected unopposed as the president of the Chhattisgarh BJP for a second term. His strong popularity among constituents and his rapport with party members have been highlighted as significant factors influencing the leadership’s decision to retain him in this role, according to party sources.
Deo initially assumed the position of state party chief in January 2024, shortly after the BJP regained power in Chhattisgarh, ending a five-year tenure of Congress governance under Bhupesh Baghel. Following the BJP's victory, Arun Sao, who preceded Deo as the party president, was appointed as one of the two deputy Chief Ministers in the Vishnu Deo Sai-led BJP government.
