Taiwan Reports Presence of Chinese Naval Vessel and Official Ship Near Its Territory Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND) said it detected a Chinese naval vessel and an official government ship operating near the island's territory, as Beijing continues to maintain a steady military and maritime presence around Taiwan. According to the MND, the vessels were identified during routine surveillance of the Taiwan Strait and nearby waters. Taiwan's armed forces closely monitored their movements and responded by deploying appropriate air, naval and coastal defense assets to keep track of the activity.

The latest detection adds to a series of near-daily incursions reported by Taiwan in recent months.
