Punjab Police and BSF Seize 20 kg Heroin, Arrest Multiple Criminals in Major Crackdown

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Range, conducted a major operation against cross-border drug smuggling in Punjab on Tuesday, seizing 19.980 kg of heroin and arresting four individuals, including the key operative overseeing the supply chain.
Preliminary investigations indicate the arrested individuals were linked to Pakistan-based handlers and coordinated the distribution of drug consignments across multiple districts. An FIR has been filed under the NDPS Act, and further investigations are ongoing to trace supply routes, identify additional handlers, and dismantle the network. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that the police remain committed to eradicating drug trafficking and cross-border narco networks in the state.
In a separate case, Patiala Police recently busted an organized crime gang, arresting nine members involved in murder, extortion, and targeted killings, and recovered nine .32 bore pistols and one .30 bore PX5 pistol. Investigations suggest the gang was planning a major offense. An FIR has been registered, and inquiries are ongoing. The Punjab Police affirmed its commitment to curbing organized crime and maintaining public safety.
