Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate "Bharat Innovates" in Nice during his visit to France.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a two-nation tour of France and Slovakia, during which he will engage in high-level talks with the leadership of both countries and take part in major global events, including the G7 Summit. This marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since its independence in 1993. According to MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal on X, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the “Bharat Innovates” event in Nice, attend the G7 Summit in Evian, and participate in the VivaTech conference in Paris, describing the visit as one aimed at strengthening partnerships and promoting progress.
PM Modi emphasized the importance of India’s growing strategic ties with France, noting that President Emmanuel Macron’s earlier visit to India led to the elevation of the relationship to a Special Global Strategic Partnership. He said his meeting with Macron in Nice would review progress and outline future cooperation, along with discussions on key global issues. He added that the “Bharat Innovates” event, to be inaugurated in Nice on June 14, 2026, will highlight innovation under the India-France Year of Innovation and connect Indian startups with global investors while boosting collaboration in higher education-driven innovation.
From France, PM Modi will travel to Slovakia for a state visit from June 14–15, where he will meet President Peter Pellegrini and Prime Minister Robert Fico and interact with business leaders. He highlighted that the visit will further strengthen India’s strategic engagement with the European Union, with Slovakia playing an important role. He will then attend the G7 Summit in Evian on June 16–17, marking India’s eighth consecutive invitation. PM Modi said India’s participation reflects global trust and its rising international influence, particularly as a voice for the Global South.
He will conclude the France visit in Paris on June 18, 2026, by attending VivaTech 2026 alongside President Macron. India will feature the largest national pavilion at the event, showcasing its growing tech and startup ecosystem. He also expressed eagerness to meet the Indian community in France, calling them a bridge between the two countries. The visit is expected to strengthen India’s global partnerships, highlight its innovation ecosystem, and deepen cooperation with Europe and the broader international community.
