President Murmu is set to begin a five-day visit to Himachal Pradesh starting today.

Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to undertake a five-day visit to Himachal Pradesh from April 27 to May 1 as part of her annual summer sojourn. During this period, she will stay at the historic Rashtrapati Niwas Mashobra, located in the serene hills near Shimla. The visit, as outlined in an official statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan, includes a mix of ceremonial, academic, and strategic engagements.

On April 28, the President will attend a formal banquet hosted by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh at Lok Bhavan Shimla. This event is expected to bring together senior state officials and dignitaries. The following day, April 29, she will visit the iconic Atal Tunnel, one of the longest highway tunnels in the world situated at a high altitude, showcasing India’s engineering capabilities.

On April 30, President Murmu will travel to Palampur to attend the convocation ceremony at Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, where she will address graduating students. Later that day, she will return to Mashobra to host an ‘At Home’ reception at Rashtrapati Niwas, inviting prominent citizens and officials.

On the final day, May 1, the President will visit the Army Training Command, an important institution responsible for shaping military training policies, before departing for Delhi. On April 23, President Murmu participated in a ceremonial event at Rashtrapati Bhavan where she accepted credentials from ambassadors and high commissioners of four nations: Laos, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, and Guinea-Bissau, reinforcing India’s diplomatic ties.
