AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend invitations to all political parties, regardless of their parliamentary strength, for the Pahalgam all-party meeting. In a social media post, the Hyderabad MP revealed he had spoken to Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju the previous night and was told that only parties with five or ten MPs were being considered for the invite list.

Owaisi questioned the exclusion of smaller parties, to which Rijiju allegedly responded that including them would make the meeting "too long" and jokingly said Owaisi's "voice is anyway, too loud." Owaisi criticized this stance, pointing out that every MP, regardless of their party's size, was democratically elected and deserves a say on such a crucial national issue. "This is not just a political issue—it’s a national concern. All voices must be heard," he said, urging Modi to ensure the meeting truly reflects the views of all parties.

The Centre is set to brief political leaders on the recent Pahalgam terror attack during Thursday evening’s meeting. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who will chair the session, along with Home Minister Amit Shah, is expected to address the gathering. Owaisi emphasized that this isn’t a BJP or NDA meeting but a collective national response to terrorism and those supporting it. “Can’t Narendra Modi spare one extra hour to listen to every party’s concerns?” he asked. The meeting follows a tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, on Tuesday, which claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them tourists.
