BJP MP from Kurukshetra, Naveen Jindal, on Tuesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he was awarded Slovakia’s highest civilian honour, the “Order of the White Double Cross (1st Class).” Jindal described the recognition as a reflection of India’s rising influence and stronger global presence.

Sharing his thoughts on X, Jindal said the award marked an important moment not only for Prime Minister Modi but also for the country. He noted that this was the 33rd international honour received by PM Modi from a foreign nation, calling it a symbol of India’s growing respect on the world stage.

Prime Minister Modi received the prestigious honour during his visit to Slovakia. The award was presented by Slovak President Peter Pellegrini in recognition of Modi’s efforts in strengthening ties between India and Slovakia. Reacting to the honour, PM Modi expressed gratitude to the Slovak government and its people. In a post on X, he said the recognition belonged to the 140 crore citizens of India and dedicated the award to the friendship shared by the two nations.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) also highlighted that the award acknowledged PM Modi’s contribution to expanding bilateral cooperation between India and Slovakia. According to the ministry, the honour reflects the growing partnership and deeper people-to-people connections between the two countries. The “Order of the White Double Cross (1st Class)” is Slovakia’s highest state award. It is presented by the Slovak President to foreign dignitaries who have made exceptional contributions toward strengthening relations with Slovakia and supporting its international interests.

PM Modi is currently on a three-day visit to Slovakia at the invitation of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. The visit comes after a series of high-level exchanges between the two countries, including President Droupadi Murmu’s state visit to Slovakia in 2025 and President Pellegrini’s trip to India earlier this year for the AI Impact Summit.
