N. Chandrababu Naidu, while campaigning in Coimbatore in support of NDA candidates, launched a strong criticism of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government. He alleged that despite receiving assistance from the central government, the state administration had not effectively utilized opportunities for development and growth.

According to an official statement, Naidu accused the ruling party of focusing more on corruption than governance. He also claimed that law and order have deteriorated, pointing to a rise in drug abuse and the spread of illicit liquor across the state. Additionally, he stated that the government has placed a heavy financial burden on citizens over the past five years through mismanagement and policies.

Naidu further argued that the DMK’s political influence has declined considerably. Highlighting concerns over safety, he alleged that crimes against women have increased by 50 percent, while crimes against Scheduled Castes have risen by 39 percent. He also drew attention to incidents involving spurious liquor, claiming that related deaths rose from 22 in 2023 to 60 in 2024.

Criticizing liquor policies, he alleged that the government is charging an additional amount per bottle, thereby exploiting consumers. He also accused the DMK of disrespecting Hindu traditions and creating divisions among people in Tamil Nadu. Urging voters to seek change, Naidu appealed for support for the AIADMK-led NDA in the upcoming elections. Tamil Nadu will go to polls in a single phase, with counting scheduled for May 4. The main contest is expected between the DMK-led alliance and the NDA.
