After the Telangana High Court dismissed the quash petition filed in connection with the Formula E race case, KT Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of BRS, vowed to continue his fight for the truth. In his response, KTR asserted that the ongoing noise and accusations would not deter him.
He stated, “Mark my words, our comeback will be stronger than this setback. Your lies won’t shatter me. Your words won’t diminish me. Your actions won’t obscure my vision. This cacophony won’t silence me!” He emphasized that the struggles he faces today will pave the way for triumph tomorrow. KTR expressed his firm belief that justice will prevail and reiterated his respect for the judiciary.
The court ruling not only dismissed the petition but also lifted an earlier order that had prevented KTR’s arrest in the case. The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is investigating KTR’s alleged involvement in financial irregularities related to the Formula E race held in Hyderabad in February 2023. The case involves accusations of money laundering and illegal payments, some of which were reportedly made in foreign currency without proper approvals.
On December 19, 2023, the ACB filed a case against KTR, focusing on the alleged financial mismanagement during the event. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also initiated its own investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and has registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR).
KTR has been named the primary accused in the case, with senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar and retired bureaucrat BLN Reddy also implicated. The FIR filed against them includes charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act and sections of the Indian Penal Code related to criminal breach of trust and conspiracy.
