Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista star in action-comedy The Wrecking Crew, streaming January 28.

Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa are joining forces for an upcoming action-comedy titled The Wrecking Crew. The makers recently unveiled first-look photos and confirmed the film’s release date. Directed by Angel Manel Soto and written by Jonathan Tropper, the movie also features a strong supporting cast including Claes Bang, Temuera Morrison, Jacob Batalon, Frankie Adams, Miyavi, along with Stephen Root and Morena Baccarin. The film is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on January 28, 2026.
The story centers on estranged half-brothers Jonny (played by Momoa) and James (played by Bautista), who are forced to come together following the mysterious death of their father. As the brothers investigate the circumstances surrounding his death, long-buried secrets begin to surface, and family loyalties are tested. The unfolding events reveal a deeper conspiracy that threatens to tear their family apart. Determined to uncover the truth, Jonny and James must join forces, ready to “wreck” anything standing in their way.
Prime Video has shared exclusive first-look images from the film featuring the lead duo. In its post, the streaming platform wrote, “Two brothers, Hawaii, and a whole lot of wrecking along the way. Here's your first look at The Wrecking Crew, starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista. Coming January 28 to Prime Video.” The images offer a glimpse into the film’s mix of high-octane action and comedic moments, setting the tone for what audiences can expect.
Dave Bautista has also been confirmed for the sequel Road House 2, where he will star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal. Directed by Ilya Naishuller, known for Heads of State, the film’s plot and character details are being kept under wraps. The screenplay is written by Will Beal, with production handled by Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment, alongside Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin’s Nine Stories. Bautista’s involvement in both films underscores his growing presence in high-profile action and comedy projects.
