The Indian Coast Guard has invited online applications for 365 vacancies under the Coast Guard Enrolled Personnel Test (CGEPT) for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. The recruitment process began on October 6, 2026, with eligible candidates being given an opportunity to apply for posts including Navik, Yantrik and Hygienist-I. The application window will remain open until October 21, 2026. Candidates interested in joining the Indian Coast Guard are advised to complete the registration process before the deadline and carefully verify the eligibility requirements mentioned in the recruitment notification.

The 365 vacancies have been divided between the two recruitment batches. The CGEPT 01/2027 batch has 190 posts, including 130 vacancies for Navik (General Duty), 28 for Yantrik (Mechanical), 23 for Yantrik (Electrical) and nine for Yantrik (Electronics). The CGEPT 02/2027 batch accounts for the remaining 175 vacancies. These include 130 posts for Navik (General Duty), 25 for Navik (Domestic Branch) and 20 posts for Hygienist-I.

Candidates applying for Navik (General Duty) are required to meet the prescribed Class 12 educational qualification with the subjects specified in the notification. For Yantrik positions, applicants must possess the required diploma qualification in the relevant engineering discipline. The educational requirements for Navik (Domestic Branch) and Hygienist-I are different and candidates should check the detailed notification before applying.

The age requirement also varies depending on the post and recruitment batch. Candidates must fall within the prescribed date-of-birth range to be considered eligible. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be applicable to eligible reserved-category candidates as per government rules. The application fee for eligible candidates is ₹550, while candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories are exempt from paying the examination fee, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.

The recruitment process will involve multiple stages, including a written examination followed by further selection stages. Candidates who qualify will have to meet the prescribed physical and medical standards before final selection. The Stage-I examination for the two batches is expected to be conducted in November 2026, while subsequent stages will take place during 2027. Candidates selected for CGEPT 01/2027 are scheduled to begin basic training at INS Chilka in May 2027. Training for the CGEPT 02/2027 batch is expected to begin in November 2027.

The recruitment drive is significant for candidates looking to build a career with the Indian Coast Guard, which is responsible for a range of duties including maritime security, coastal surveillance, search and rescue operations and assistance during emergencies at sea. Applicants should ensure that their personal details, educational information and supporting documents are entered correctly while submitting the online application. They should also retain a copy of the submitted application and payment receipt for future reference.

The detailed recruitment notification and application instructions are available through the official Indian Coast Guard and Staff Selection Commission websites.
