The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) Chief Engineer B. Ravinder after searches at multiple locations allegedly uncovered a vast portfolio of properties, luxury vehicles, cash, jewellery, and other valuables. Officials believe the market value of the assets could exceed ₹100 crore, although the officially assessed value of the seized assets currently stands at around ₹9.24 crore.

The ACB carried out simultaneous raids at Ravinder's residence, office, and several other premises linked to his relatives, associates, and suspected benami holders. The operation was launched after the agency registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act, alleging that the senior official amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

During the searches, investigators identified five open plots, four residential flats, a semi-finished villa, agricultural land, and a multi-storey building. Officials also recovered approximately 1.44 kilograms of gold ornaments, over 12 kilograms of silver, cash, bank deposits, household valuables, electronic gadgets, and four high-end vehicles.

According to the ACB, while the documented value of the assets is estimated at ₹9.24 crore, the actual market price of the properties—many of which are located in fast-growing areas around Hyderabad—is expected to be significantly higher. Investigators estimate that the combined market value could cross the ₹100-crore mark after a detailed valuation.

Following the raids, Ravinder was taken into custody and is expected to be produced before the designated court for judicial remand. Officials said the investigation will continue to verify additional movable and immovable assets, financial transactions, and ownership records linked to the accused and his associates. The agency is also examining whether some of the properties were acquired through benami transactions or held in the names of relatives and associates. Authorities said further verification is underway and additional assets may be identified as the probe progresses.

The case is among the latest high-profile anti-corruption actions in Telangana, where the ACB has intensified its crackdown on public servants suspected of possessing assets beyond their legitimate income. Officials maintained that the investigation is ongoing, and the final value of the assets will be determined after a comprehensive assessment and verification of all recovered documents and records.
