Delhi Police Officer Allegedly Kills Wife in Broad Daylight After Dispute in Kalyanpuri, Escapes From Spot

A Delhi Police constable allegedly shot his wife dead following an argument while the couple was travelling on a scooter in east Delhi’s Kalyanpuri area on Sunday evening. According to police officials, the two had a heated exchange during the ride, after which the constable stopped the scooter, opened fire at his wife, and escaped from the scene.
The shooting was witnessed by several people nearby. Around four to five bystanders rushed to help the injured woman and took her to a nearby hospital in an autorickshaw, but she later died from her injuries. Police have launched a search operation to locate the accused constable. Investigators are also examining CCTV footage from the area to track his movements. More details are awaited as the investigation continues.
In another shooting incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura, a man was allegedly killed by his cousin during a family gathering, police said on Sunday. Mathura Police officials said they received information about the killing at the Highway Police Station, following which Circle Officer Praveen Tiwari and other officers reached the spot to investigate. The accused, identified as Pawan Chaudhary, was detained at the scene along with his licensed pistol.
During initial questioning, police said the accused allegedly claimed that the attack was carried out over a suspected relationship between the victim and his wife. Authorities are conducting further investigation, including legal procedures related to the deceased. Mathura Police also arrested another shooting suspect after a brief exchange of fire. Officials said several teams had been conducting raids to locate the accused, who was wanted for allegedly shooting and injuring an associate in Khamni village on July 2 following the registration of a complaint.
