After impressing audiences with his intense performance in Animal, Ranbir Kapoor is now preparing for the release of his ambitious upcoming film Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. On Monday, Ranbir, along with the director and producer Namit Malhotra, unveiled a key asset of the film at an event in Los Angeles. The glimpse, titled Rama, reportedly showcases Ranbir’s look as Lord Ram. In India, it is set to release on April 2, aligning with the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.

Visuals from the US event have gone viral online, building excitement among fans. In one such video, Ranbir is seen discussing his approach to portraying Lord Ram, describing him as the “conscience keeper of billions.” He highlighted that Lord Ram symbolizes compassion, courage, righteousness, and forgiveness, and is revered as Maryada Purushottam, the ideal man.

While the official photos and videos from the team are yet to be released, anticipation continues to grow. The film features Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, making it one of the most awaited releases of 2026. Nitesh Tiwari described the project as more than just a film, calling it a cultural vision aimed at transcending borders while staying rooted in tradition. Produced by Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the two-part epic is planned for a global IMAX release, with the first part arriving in Diwali 2026 and the second in Diwali 2027.
