Professor Muhammad Yunus Embarks on Davos Visit for WEF Annual Meeting

Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser, departed Dhaka early today for a four-day official visit to Davos, Switzerland, to participate in the World Economic Forum's (WEF) annual meeting. According to Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, Yunus and his delegation left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on an Emirates flight at 1:00 am.
During the visit, Professor Yunus is scheduled to engage in bilateral discussions with notable leaders, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Finland President Alexander Stubb, King Philippe of Belgium, and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
A dedicated session on Bangladesh will also take place at the WEF, involving global business leaders and CEOs from various international organizations, as reported by UNB. Additionally, high-ranking officials from the European Central Bank, Meta, and Amnesty International are expected to meet with the chief adviser.
The annual meeting will serve as a platform for Bangladesh to emphasize its efforts to enhance the business and investment environment. Professor Yunus will highlight the opportunities available in the country to build confidence among global investors and business leaders. Yunus will lead the Bangladeshi delegation, which includes Special Envoy on International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi and Principal Coordinator on SDG Affairs Lamiya Morshed. The chief adviser is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on January 25.
