Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived at Evian, the location of the G7 Summit in France.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said he was looking forward to engaging with global leaders at the G7 Summit in Evian-les-Bains, France. Leaders of the Group of Seven major industrialised countries began the first full day of discussions at the summit, which officially opened on Monday. In a post on X, he wrote, “Reached Evian, France for the G7 Summit,” adding that India remains committed to strengthening global cooperation for a more sustainable and prosperous future.
Earlier the same day local time he said he had arrived in Geneva Switzerland after completing his visit to Slovakia. France is hosting the 52nd G7 Summit from June 15 to 17 bringing together the US UK Germany Japan Italy Canada and France. India is participating as a partner country for the 13th time with this marking PM Modi’s seventh consecutive attendance at the summit.
During his departure from Slovakia Modi described the visit as historic and productive saying it would help deepen bilateral ties Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico personally saw him off reflecting strong diplomatic relations between the two countries. As part of the visit Slovak President Peter Pellegrini awarded Modi the country’s highest civilian honour the Order of the White Double Cross 1st Class marking the 33rd international recognition he has received.
The visit also led to multiple MoUs between India and Slovakia in areas such as education research talent mobility technology and cultural cooperation aimed at strengthening institutional and professional exchanges between the two nations. The visit highlights India’s continued diplomatic engagement with Europe and participation in major global forums aimed at addressing economic, technological, and geopolitical challenges through multilateral cooperation and sustained international dialogue at present time
