Chirag Paswan says LJP (Ram Vilas) will decide on 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly election plans within a month.

Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan has said the party will decide within the next month whether it will contest the 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly elections, even as it accelerates preparations for upcoming polls in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Speaking to reporters in Haridwar, Paswan said the party has officially launched its campaign preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, while formal groundwork for the Punjab Assembly polls will begin later this month.
He revealed that the LJP (Ram Vilas) unit in Uttarakhand has urged the central leadership to field candidates in the states 2027 Assembly elections. However, he clarified that no final decision has been made yet. According to Paswan, the proposal from the Uttarakhand unit will be placed before the partys central parliamentary board, which will appoint in-charges and evaluate the feasibility of contesting before making a final decision.
He added that the leadership is actively considering entering the Uttarakhand electoral contest, particularly as the party prepares to fight elections in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. A final verdict on the matter is expected within a month. On July 5, Paswan had announced the partys intention to contest the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He said decisions regarding alliances, seat-sharing arrangements, and the partys electoral strategy would initially be shaped by the Uttar Pradesh unit before receiving approval from the central parliamentary board.
Emphasising the partys long-term growth strategy, Paswan said LJP (Ram Vilas) is focused on expanding its presence across the country and strengthening its organisational network in key states, including Uttar Pradesh. He also announced that this years birth anniversary celebrations of the partys founder and his father, Ram Vilas Paswan, will be held in Lucknow, underscoring the partys efforts to deepen its political footprint in the state.
