Chanderkote, a crucial transit point in Ramban district on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, serves as an important stop for Amarnath Yatra convoys during the annual pilgrimage. To safeguard the yatra, authorities have put in place multi-layered security measures, including deployment of security forces along the route and at designated rest points. Traffic management plans have also been implemented to balance the movement of pilgrims with regular vehicular traffic on the highway.
Officials confirmed that the convoy continued its onward journey towards the Kashmir Valley under the protection of security escorts. Coordination between security agencies and the civil administration remained in effect to ensure the pilgrimage proceeded without disruption. The Shri Amarnath Yatra draws thousands of devotees from across India, who undertake the spiritual journey to the sacred cave shrine nestled in the Himalayas. To support the large influx of pilgrims, the administration has made extensive preparations, focusing on security, logistics, and traffic regulation.
Authorities have advised pilgrims to comply with official guidelines, cooperate with security personnel, and follow the prescribed travel schedule and instructions to help ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the yatra. The convoy passed through Chanderkote without any reported incidents, with the pilgrimage continuing under close supervision by the administration and security agencies.
