Youth remains Modi govt's topmost priority: Rajnath Singh, Nadda back fast-track courts

New Delhi, July 23 (AHN) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Thursday welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to establish fast-track courts for the speedy trial of those accused in paper leak cases, saying that safeguarding the future of the country's youth remains the "topmost priority" of the Modi government.

Their remarks came amid ongoing protests over alleged examination paper leaks, during which Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Centre has decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. The Prime Minister also warned that those attempting to jeopardise the future of the country's youth would face strict action.

Reacting to the announcement, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the decision reflected the government's unwavering commitment to protecting the interests and aspirations of young people.

In a post on X, Singh said, "Securing the future of India's youth is the topmost priority of PM Shri Narendra Modi-led NDA Government. PM Modi's decision to establish Fast Track Courts for speedy trials in paper leak cases reflects his firm resolve and unwavering commitment towards empowering youth."

He further said that the move would ensure "swift and strict action" against those who seek to endanger the future and aspirations of students through examination-related malpractices.

Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda also expressed support for the Prime Minister's announcement, stating that the government remains fully committed to safeguarding the interests of the country's youth.

Taking to social media, Nadda said, "Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Central Government is fully committed to safeguarding the future and interests of the youth."

"To tackle a serious challenge like paper leaks, Prime Minister Modi ji's resolve to establish fast-track courts and take the strictest action against the guilty is a clear testament to our government's sensitivity and commitment towards the youth," he added.

Nadda also launched a sharp attack on the Opposition and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of "avoiding meaningful discussion on this crucial issue" in Parliament and being instead "attempting to mislead the public on the streets", adding that such conduct was "irresponsible" and contrary to democratic values.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi announced the decision in a post on X, saying, "Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth! We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. Have directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard."

He underlined that the step is a part of a series of measures by the Central government for "safeguarding the interests of students".

PM Modi also issued a warning, saying: "Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared. The welfare and future of the country's youth is our topmost priority."
