MP bags top honour at International Agriculture & Horticulture Expo 2026

New Delhi/Bhopal, July 27 (AHN) Madhya Pradesh has won the first prize for its overall performance in the agriculture and horticulture sector at the International Agriculture & Horticulture Expo-2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Monday.

Congratulating the state’s farmers, agricultural scientists and officials, Yadav said the award reflected Madhya Pradesh’s growing strength in horticulture and the government’s efforts to promote value addition and food processing.

“Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states in horticultural crop production. Our government is making dedicated efforts to ensure remunerative prices for farmers by promoting food processing units and strengthening marketing avenues for agricultural produce,” Yadav said in a statement on Monday.

The three-day expo, held from July 25 to 27, brought together government departments, agricultural scientists, experts, entrepreneurs and farmers from India and abroad to showcase innovations in agriculture, horticulture and food processing.

According to the state government, the Madhya Pradesh pavilion won the first prize for its innovative initiatives, effective implementation of government schemes and efforts to connect farmers with the food processing sector.

Pavilions from Karnataka, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan also participated in the exhibition, showcasing modern farming technologies, organic products and government initiatives.

“The innovations and initiatives undertaken by Madhya Pradesh received nationwide appreciation at the International Agriculture & Horticulture Expo-2026. Our government remains committed to further strengthening the agriculture and horticulture sectors and creating better opportunities for farmers through food processing and value addition,” Yadav added.

Horticulture and Food Processing Minister Narayan Singh Kushwah said the award reflected the collective efforts of the state’s farmers, entrepreneurs and departmental officials and would further strengthen Madhya Pradesh’s position in the agriculture and horticulture sectors.

The international event witnessed participation of around 25,000 farmers, scientists, agricultural experts and entrepreneurs, providing a platform to promote modern agricultural technologies, spread awareness about government schemes and encourage the growth of agriculture- and horticulture-based industries.
