Bhopal, June 19 (AHN) In a major push towards housing for all and infrastructure development, more than 38,000 families will receive keys to their new permanent homes, marking a significant milestone in providing dignified housing to urban families across the state.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal will jointly distribute housing approvals and perform the bhoomi pujan of an ambitious road project on Saturday, June 20, at Saver in Indore district.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), approvals worth over Rs 2,500 crore will be granted to more than 42,000 eligible beneficiaries. The leaders will also lay the foundation stone for the 48.10 km long Indore-Ujjain Greenfield Four-Lane Expressway, estimated to cost Rs 2,935 crore.
Developed by the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation on the Hybrid Annuity Model (40:60), this high-speed corridor aims to transform connectivity in the Malwa region. The project is expected to drastically reduce travel time between Indore and Ujjain while enhancing safety and comfort.
It will give a strong boost to economic activities, industrial investment, trade, logistics, agricultural marketing, and religious tourism. Devotees visiting Ujjain, the city of Lord Mahakal, will benefit immensely from improved access.
Special provisions have been made for local residents and farmers, including 18 underpasses and 19 junction improvement works. Grade-separated junctions will be developed along the Western Ring Road and Ujjain-Badnavar Road.
The project also includes comprehensive safety measures, including ambulances, cranes, and patrolling vehicles at every toll plaza, to ensure prompt emergency response.
This twin event underscores the state’s commitment to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Developed India by 2047 through robust urban housing and modern infrastructure.
The new greenfield corridor is poised to unlock the region’s potential, fostering faster growth and a better quality of life for the people of Madhya Pradesh.
The programme is being seen as a significant step in the state’s journey towards holistic development, combining social welfare with strategic infrastructure creation.
