Kavita Kaushik reacts to female officers being sidelined in cop dramas

Mumbai, April 4 (AHN) Actress Kavita Kaushik has spoken about the perception of female officers being sidelined in cop dramas, stating that she has not faced such an experience, particularly given that she herself portrayed a female cop in the show FIR.
The actress speaking about being sidelined in cop dramas, stressed that performance matters more than screen time for her.
In an exclusive conversation with AHN, she addressed the perception that female officers are often pushed to the background.
“Personally, I have never felt sidelined in my career. I believe in making the most of the space I am given. I don’t fight for screen time, I focus on impact,” she said.
Talking about Kavita Kaushik, the actress is known for playing Chandramukhi Chautala in the television show FIR, where she essayed the role of a female police officer in a central role within a comedic setting.
The character in the show was shown as assertive and in charge, operating within a team largely comprising male colleagues.
On the personal front, Kavita Kaushik is married to Ronnit Biswas, and the couple has moved base from Mumbai to Goa.
Apart from FIR, she has been part of shows such as Kutumb, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and has also appeared in reality shows including Bigg Boss.
Talking about the television show FIR, alongside featuring Kavita Kaushik as Chandramukhi Chautala, it also starred actors like Aamir Ali, Kiku Sharda, Gopi Bhalla and Sandeep Anand.
The show first aired in 2006 till 2015.The sitcom revolved around a quirky police station and its team.
On the work front, Kavita will next be seen in the upcoming OTT series Kaptaan, which also features Saqib Saleem and Abhishek Nigam.
