Jaipur, June 13 (AHN) Every morning, milk collected from thousands of villages across Rajasthan begins a journey that eventually reaches breakfast tables in Jaipur and beyond. For decades, Jaipur Dairy has been the backbone of that journey.
Now, the Jaipur District Milk Producers' Cooperative Union Limited (Jaipur Dairy) has undergone a major modernisation and renovation drive worth Rs 133 crore, strengthening its capacity to serve consumers and support dairy farmers across the region.
The upgraded facility, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and advanced processing systems, is set to be inaugurated shortly. Now, after a Rs 133-crore boost, the cooperative giant is preparing for its biggest leap yet. The transformation is visible in every corner of the sprawling facility. New-age machinery hums where ageing equipment once stood, automated systems have replaced manual processes, and production capacities have expanded on a scale never seen before.
At the heart of this transformation lies a remarkable jump in capacity. Jaipur Dairy can now process 20 lakh litres of milk every day, up from 12 lakh litres earlier. Its milk pouch packaging capacity has surged from 10 lakh litres to 16.5 lakh litres daily, enabling faster delivery and a stronger supply chain for consumers.
The upgraded plant is also designed to produce up to 70 tonnes of ghee per day, positioning Jaipur as a major hub for value-added dairy products. Modern boilers and advanced processing systems have been installed to support large-scale production of ghee, butter and whey-based products.
For Rajasthan's dairy farmers, the modernisation represents new opportunities. During peak seasons, surplus milk often creates logistical challenges. The expanded processing capacity will allow Jaipur Dairy to procure and handle larger volumes, reducing wastage and ensuring farmers receive better market access for their produce.
Consumers, too, stand to benefit. Higher processing and packaging capacities are expected to improve product availability while maintaining quality and hygiene standards. State Dairy Minister Joraram Kumawat, who recently inspected the facility, described the project as a milestone for Rajasthan's dairy sector.
Officials of the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF) and Jaipur Dairy briefed him on the technological upgrades and operational improvements achieved through the renovation.
As Rajasthan's dairy industry continues to grow, Jaipur Dairy's modernisation is being viewed as more than an infrastructure project. It is a symbol of the state's evolving rural economy, where technology, cooperative networks and farmer participation are coming together to fuel the next phase of the White Revolution.
When the new plant begins full-scale operations, the impact will be felt far beyond Jaipur's city limits, from village milk collection centres to urban households, creating a stronger dairy ecosystem for millions of producers and consumers alike.
