Chennai, Jan 19 (AHN) The manifesto preparation committee of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is all set to begin an extensive statewide consultation tour from Vellore on Monday, as the party intensifies preparations for the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
According to party sources, the committee's tour aims to collect opinions, suggestions, and policy recommendations from a wide spectrum of society.
Special focus will be placed on interactions with stakeholders from the education sector, alongside consultations with representatives of social organisations, professionals, youth groups, and grassroots party workers.
The feedback gathered during these interactions is expected to play a key role in shaping the DMK's election manifesto.
After commencing its consultations in Vellore, the committee will travel to several major towns and districts across the State on different dates. The itinerary includes Hosur, Thanjavur, Tiruchy, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, Cuddalore, Salem, Coimbatore, and Madurai.
The statewide outreach programme is scheduled to continue until February 10.
Party leaders stated that the exercise reflects the DMK's emphasis on participatory politics and inclusive policymaking.
By engaging directly with people from different regions and sectors, the party aims to ensure that its manifesto addresses local aspirations, regional development needs, and long-term governance priorities.
The committee is expected to compile the inputs and submit a comprehensive report to the party leadership for further deliberation.
Meanwhile, the DMK has announced that a meeting of its district secretaries will be held on Tuesday, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin.
The meeting will focus on preparations for the upcoming Assembly election, including organisational strengthening, coordination at the district and booth levels, and strategies to effectively highlight the development works carried out by the DMK government.
Party sources indicated that the deliberations are expected to provide strategic direction for the next phase of the party's election campaign.
