Patna, May 23 (AHN) Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the Bihar AI Summit-2026 on Saturday at the Urja Auditorium in Patna, highlighting the growing role of technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in governance and law enforcement.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Bihar is undergoing rapid transformation and asserted that the time has come for people from Bihar living outside the state to return home and contribute to its development.
Speaking on the use of AI in policing and administration, Samrat Choudhary referred to the deployment of AI-enabled surveillance systems and added that criminals can now be identified and apprehended quickly using modern technology.
Clarifying remarks made during his speech regarding green 'gamchas' (which is generally used by the Yadav community), the Chief Minister said his comments were not directed at any particular community or group, but were intended to demonstrate how AI-based cameras and digital surveillance tools can help law enforcement agencies identify suspects instantly.
He emphasised that criminals have neither caste nor religion and asserted that the law would be applied equally to everyone without discrimination.
Chief Minister Choudhary also added that the police have been given complete operational freedom to strengthen law and order and ensure good governance in the state.
He warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to challenge the police or disrupt public order.
He also reiterated that Bihar's policy of crime control through speedy trials and a strict administrative framework would continue across the state.
He said that caste or religion would not influence action against criminal elements and that anyone challenging the rule of law would face stringent punishment.
Earlier, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Thursday issued a strong statement on law and order, asserting that any criminal who challenges the police should receive a fitting response within 48 hours.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government remains fully committed to eliminating crime and strengthening good governance in Bihar.
