BL Santhosh in Jaipur to review BJP's civic poll preparedness in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Sep 4 (AHN) BJP National General Secretary (Organization) B.L. Santhosh arrived in Jaipur on Friday to take stock of the party’s preparations for the upcoming urban local body elections in Rajasthan. He was welcomed at the BJP state office by State President Madan Rathore.

During his visit, Santhosh is scheduled to meet Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Rathore, members of the state core committee, and MLAs.

The meetings are expected to focus on the party’s election strategy, organisational preparedness and booth-level management. The BJP considers the civic body elections an important test of its organisational strength and election machinery ahead of the upcoming Panchayati Raj and Assembly elections.

Santhosh’s visit assumes significance as the party seeks to address resentment among leaders and workers following ticket distribution, including protests and the entry of rebel candidates in several cities and towns.

Santhosh is expected to review the political situation in various urban local bodies and assess constituencies where official BJP candidates are facing challenges from rebels or disgruntled party workers.

The party leadership is also likely to discuss ways to placate dissatisfied leaders and workers through dialogue, mediation and organisational responsibilities. Senior leaders may be tasked with keeping disgruntled workers engaged in the election campaign and party activities.

The meetings are also expected to examine the BJP’s ground-level organisational strength, booth management and the preparedness of election teams across wards.

Santhosh will seek feedback on the functioning of the party’s election war room, campaign activities and booth-level network. The leadership is expected to identify organisational gaps, weak areas and wards requiring additional political and organisational support. Separate meetings with party office-bearers handling media and social media are also scheduled.

These discussions are likely to focus on highlighting the state government’s achievements while addressing local civic issues and strengthening the party’s communication strategy.

Visits by the BJP’s National General Secretary (Organisation) to Rajasthan during local body elections are relatively uncommon. Santhosh’s visit indicates that the party’s central leadership is closely monitoring the civic polls. The BJP is expected to view the results as an important indicator of its organisational strength, election management and the political mood in Rajasthan ahead of the Panchayati Raj and Assembly elections.
