Patna, April 3 (AHN) In a major crackdown, a joint team of police and administration carried out a late-evening raid in Sasaram on Friday, uncovering alleged immoral activities operating from two marriage halls and detaining around 50 male and female individuals.
According to the circle officer of Bikramganj range, the action was launched following confidential intelligence inputs about suspected illicit activities at Prakash Marriage Hall in the Maliyabag area and another nearby location.
Acting swiftly, a special team led by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), along with a heavy police force, conducted a coordinated operation.
During the raid, all entry and exit points of the premises were sealed, preventing anyone from escaping.
Authorities reported that alleged immoral activities were being carried out inside the halls.
The sudden operation triggered panic and chaos among those present.
However, due to tight security arrangements, no one managed to flee.
Police detained all individuals present in these two premises of the marriage halls for questioning.
All detainees have been taken into custody, and their identities and backgrounds are being verified.
Officials stated that detailed facts of the case will emerge only after thorough interrogation and investigation.
“The process of registering FIRs against the owners and managers of these two marriage halls is underway. We are making efforts to nab them. This is a serious matter for us as it gives a wrong signal in society,” the circle officer said.
Detention of people at such a mass level is an indication that an organised, immoral racket is running in Rohtas district.
A large police force remained deployed throughout the operation, and the area was completely cordoned off to ensure control over the situation.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion across the city, drawing attention to law enforcement’s response to alleged illegal activity.
Authorities have indicated that further action will be taken based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
