X has launched a new feature called Custom Timelines that lets users pin topics to their home feed. It uses Grok AI to recommend posts based on selected interests, giving users more control over what they see. The feature supports over 75 topics, including areas like sports, tech, and entertainment, and is currently available in early access for Premium iOS users, with Android support coming soon. Instead of a single mixed feed, users can switch to topic-specific timelines where content is filtered and prioritised according to their preferences. X product head Nikita Bier said the feature took months of development and is now being rolled out for testing. Powered by Grok and X’s recommendation system, Custom Timelines use user activity and engagement patterns to improve suggestions. The rollout will expand gradually as the platform gathers feedback and enhances the experience.
