On Tuesday, Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) announced the nomination of its semiconductor division chief, Jun Young-hyun, and Chief Technology Officer, Song Jai-hyuk, to its board. The move aims to enhance the company's competitiveness amid challenges in its semiconductor business.In a regulatory filing, the South Korean tech giant also revealed the nomination of Seoul National University Professor Lee Hyuk-jae as an outside director. Lee, a semiconductor expert, currently leads the university's semiconductor research center.
