ITBP Forms Drone Platoons, Strengthens Bunker Infrastructure Along LAC: DG

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has established drone platoons in all border units and is building underground bunkers along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China to strengthen its combat readiness. Director General Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor said the force is modernising its equipment and introducing a new 'Strike' training course to prepare personnel for Galwan-like clashes.
The ITBP has allocated a major share of its modernisation funds to drone and anti-drone technology. The force is also raising Shaurya commandos, upgrading weapons and vehicles, and improving facilities for troops deployed in extreme high-altitude conditions. Kapoor said these initiatives aim to develop the ITBP into a specialised mountain warfare force capable of countering emerging security challenges along the China border.
