Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke ended his hunger strike on Monday after activist Sonam Wangchuk reportedly urged him to conserve his strength for the ongoing protest. Dipke broke his fast with a glass of juice before joining the "Chalo Sansad" march towards Parliament. Dipke had started his fast on Saturday after Delhi Police removed Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar and shifted him to Safdarjung Hospital. Wangchuk has been on a hunger strike since June 28, demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and calling for education reforms. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said he and party leader Ashutosh Ranka were on their way to meet Union Minister J.P. Nadda after the government reportedly initiated talks. Thousands of protesters gathered in Delhi for the march, but police stopped them at barricades and deployed heavy security across the capital.
