Younger Son of Late SP Founder Mulayam Singh Yadav Passes Away at 38

Prateek Yadav, the younger son of late Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away in Lucknow on Wednesday at the age of 38, according to reports. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves across political circles in Uttar Pradesh. Prateek Yadav, who stayed away from active politics, was rushed to a civil hospital after his health reportedly deteriorated. Doctors declared him dead on arrival. Initial reports suggest he had been facing health complications related to his lungs, although officials are yet to release a detailed medical statement.
Born into one of Uttar Pradesh’s most influential political families, Prateek was the half-brother of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav. Unlike several members of the Yadav family, Prateek maintained a low public profile and focused primarily on business and fitness-related ventures.
Known for his interest in fitness and luxury automobiles, Prateek had built a separate identity outside electoral politics. He was often seen participating in fitness activities and managing private business interests in Lucknow. Soon after the news broke, political leaders from across party lines expressed grief over his untimely death. Samajwadi Party workers and supporters gathered outside the family residence to pay their respects. Several senior leaders also conveyed condolences to the Yadav family during this difficult time.
Prateek Yadav’s death comes nearly four years after the passing of Mulayam Singh Yadav, whose influence on Uttar Pradesh politics remains significant even today. Family members are expected to perform the last rites in Lucknow in the presence of relatives, political leaders, and supporters. The sudden loss has once again brought attention to the personal tragedies faced by prominent political families, with condolences continuing to pour in from across the country.
