VHP International President Alok Kumar has demanded the immediate filing of an FIR and deployment of senior, competent police officers in the alleged Ram Mandir donation misappropriation case, stressing that no accused should be protected or treated leniently. He said that although the SIT report has not yet been made available to his organisation, authorities have reportedly identified those involved, largely based on CCTV footage. According to him, the investigation has now reached a stage where formal criminal proceedings should begin.

The three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the alleged irregularities in Ram Mandir donations, submitted its preliminary report on Tuesday to Uttar Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad. Officials said the findings are an initial assessment and the details remain confidential. SIT member Vijay Vishwas Pant confirmed that the report has been handed over but did not disclose its contents, noting that it is still under review.

Alok Kumar reiterated that an FIR should be registered without delay and that specialists should be brought in to ensure a thorough investigation. He also insisted that all suspects must be investigated impartially, without any political or institutional influence. He further called for the case to be taken to a fast-track court, suggesting daily hearings so that a verdict could be reached within four months and the guilty punished swiftly.

Responding to reports about possible resignations by individuals linked to the trust, Kumar said he was not aware of any confirmed resignations and declined to comment on speculation, adding that any decisions taken would be based on personal judgment. On concerns regarding administrative lapses, he said the Ram Mandir donation system cannot rely solely on trust and requires professional management, clear standard operating procedures, and a foolproof system to prevent misuse of funds and restore public confidence.

Criticising opposition leaders demanding CBI and ED probes, Kumar dismissed their statements as politically motivated, linking them to upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh. He accused them of using the issue for electoral gain and said the public would not support attempts to politicise the matter.

The allegations originated from former SP MLA Pawan Pandey, who claimed that ₹7–7.5 crore in donations may have been misappropriated. In response, the state government formed a three-member SIT on June 14 after a request from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Trust. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a court-monitored investigation and an FIR, along with a CBI-led SIT probe into alleged financial irregularities, missing funds, and administrative lapses within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya.
