Actor and Lok Sabha MP Ravi Kishan has criticized the alleged vulgarity in the lyrics of the recently released song Sarke Chunar, stating that content which harms cultural values should not be encouraged in society. Speaking on Tuesday, he pointed out that films like Dhurandhar have achieved massive financial success without relying on obscenity, and urged filmmakers to follow such examples. He emphasized that adding vulgar elements for commercial gain or publicity is not appropriate and expressed his opposition to it.

The Karnataka State Women Commission has urged the Central Board of Film Certification to take strict action against songs containing obscene and derogatory portrayals of women. In a letter to the CBFC’s Regional Director, the Commission raised concerns about the song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke from the film KD: The Devil, citing public complaints about offensive lyrics that undermine women’s dignity.

The Commission stated that such content violates film certification guidelines and can negatively affect women’s safety and social well-being. It called for careful review of such material and recommended that objectionable lyrics or scenes be removed or modified before certification is granted. Additionally, the Commission wrote to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, urging it to curb the use of vulgar language and ensure films uphold social responsibility and respect for women.
