Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh has reiterated the state government's zero-tolerance approach towards drug peddlers and smugglers, stating that those involved in the illegal narcotics trade will face strict legal action.

Speaking on the government's ongoing campaign against drugs, the minister said authorities remain committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks and ensuring that individuals responsible for spreading narcotics are brought to justice. He stressed that law enforcement agencies are actively working to curb the supply of illegal drugs across the state.At the same time, Dr. Singh underlined the importance of treating drug addiction as a public health issue. He said people struggling with substance abuse should be encouraged to seek medical treatment and rehabilitation rather than being stigmatized. According to him, helping addicts recover is a key part of the state's broader strategy to tackle the drug menace.
