Narendra Modi on Monday described his recent roadshow in Thrissur, Kerala, as “memorable.” Sharing a video from Sunday’s event on X, he thanked the people of Thrissur and highlighted key moments from the rally. The Prime Minister held a roadshow in Thrissur and addressed a public meeting in Palakkad to launch the election campaign of the BJP-led NDA for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections. During his speech, he strongly criticized both the Left Democratic Front and the United Democratic Front, accusing them of alternately ruling the state and engaging in corruption over the years.

Speaking at the rally, he claimed that both alliances have taken turns governing Kerala while benefiting themselves, and said the state has suffered due to this pattern. He also pointed out that despite accusing each other of being aligned with the BJP, both groups are partners in alliances in other states, urging voters to be cautious.

The Kerala Assembly elections will take place in a single phase on April 9, with results to be announced on May 4. Traditionally, power in the state has alternated between the LDF and UDF every five years, although the LDF, led by Pinarayi Vijayan, broke this trend by winning a second consecutive term in 2021. While the LDF and UDF remain the main contenders, the BJP aims to strengthen its presence following its notable victory in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation elections.
