The National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Central government have rejected claims circulating on social media that the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination question paper was leaked on Telegram, calling the viral video a fake attempt to spread misinformation. The Press Information Bureau’s (PIB) Fact Check unit also investigated the claim and declared it false. In a post on X, PIB Fact Check clarified that a video claiming the NEET (UG) 2026 re-exam paper was leaked before the examination was misleading and had no factual basis. The agency said that NTA had confirmed that allegations of a paper leak were completely unfounded.

NTA also issued a statement addressing the viral content, stating that the video being shared online was fabricated and that the examination was conducted successfully with strict security and monitoring measures in place. The testing body warned that creating and spreading false information about a major national-level examination is a serious offence, as it can create unnecessary fear among students and parents. NTA said it is working with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and law enforcement authorities to identify those involved in spreading the fake content.

The agency urged candidates and the public to rely only on official updates available through NTA’s website and verified social media accounts instead of believing unconfirmed posts circulating online. The NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination was held after concerns emerged over a previous paper leak incident. According to NTA, more than 20 lakh candidates appeared for the re-test across 5,440 examination centres in India and 14 international centres. The exam was conducted in 13 languages.

NTA Director General Abhishek Singh said the re-examination was completed smoothly with strong security arrangements. He stated that no complaints related to a fresh question paper leak had been received and assured that the agency was taking all necessary steps to maintain the fairness and credibility of the examination process. The evaluation process is expected to begin soon, with NTA aiming to release results earlier than usual. Officials said the entire examination cycle has been shortened to around 37 days to ensure a faster conclusion for students.
