Kishore Kumar Fan Abhishek Bachchan Attends Ariana Grande Concert For Daughter Aaradhya

Abhishek Bachchan has recently found himself exploring the music of some of today’s biggest Gen Z pop stars, thanks to his 14-year-old daughter Aaradhya. While he remains a devoted fan of classic Hindi film music, the actor admitted that attending an Ariana Grande concert with his daughter gave him a new appreciation for contemporary pop.
Speaking to BBC Asian Network, Abhishek recalled attending an Ariana Grande show during a family trip abroad. He joked that he did not know any of the songs before the concert, but was thoroughly impressed by the singer’s vocal ability and stage presence. He praised the quality of Ariana’s voice and said he was also struck by the enormous following enjoyed by today’s young international artists. Abhishek added that dismissing singers such as Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift simply because they belong to a younger generation would be unfair, as he believes they are producing genuinely good music.
With a teenager at home, Abhishek said his own playlist has inevitably expanded. Aaradhya enjoys artists including Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, exposing him to a very different generation of music. However, he is pleased that her musical interests are not limited to contemporary pop. According to Abhishek, Aaradhya also enjoys music from earlier decades and has developed an interest in rock bands such as Bon Jovi, Van Halen and Metallica. He described her taste as "eclectic" and joked that her appreciation for older music means he does not have to constantly listen to modern pop at home.
Abhishek himself continues to have a strong connection with classic Hindi film music. Among his favourite singers is legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar. He also enjoys the work of celebrated composers including R.D. Burman, S.D. Burman, Kalyanji-Anandji, Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Bappi Lahiri. The actor's musical preferences reflect his affection for the melodies of an earlier era, even as his daughter introduces him to some of the biggest names in contemporary pop.
On the acting front, Abhishek Bachchan was most recently seen in Riteish Deshmukh's Marathi film Raja Shivaji. He is also set to appear as an antagonist in Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The highly anticipated project features Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, with Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Arshad Warsi among the other prominent names in the cast.
